How effective are anti-aging skin creams?

by Jen Hopkins

It can be difficult to choose an effective skin care product out of the many available today. There are many factors which should be taken into account when buying an anti aging cream.

Experts in the field of skin care state that the efficacy of such anti aging skin products can vary depending on the ingredients it contains. While one product works for another person, it may not work for oneself. This is because different types of skin may react differently to skin care products.

Due to recent advances in the technology of skin care products, a variety of advanced anti aging creams may be found not just at supermarkets but also at cosmetic stores. Research shows that aging is not the sole cause of wrinkles but rather many external factors.

Research has proved that people who stay in the sun for long hours are susceptible to wrinkles. Actually, sun rays also have ultraviolet components namely UVA and UVB rays which aggravate the development of wrinkles. Pollution (especially air pollution) is also responsible for the development of wrinkles.

Can the development of wrinkles be stopped? Even potentially reversed? The answers to those questions are not clear as the chemistry of wrinkles and creams can be complicated? Could these creams even work?

The body naturally produces two proteins known as collagen and elastin. These proteins help ward off wrinkles. Sadly, aging can reduce the production of these agents. This can lead to wrinkles on the face, destroying our looks and youth.

So, anti aging skin care products may or may not work. Some do and some don't. At times it may take 3-4 weeks for a wrinkle cream to hinder the development of wrinkles.

In order to find answers the presented questions, one may find useful information on the World Wide Web. Certain sites have a great deal of information in the form of reviews which can lead to the correct wrinkle cream for you. A dermatologist is also a viable source of information on the real 'best wrinkle cream'.
